Hearing Scratching in the Attic or Seeing Bats Around Your Roofline?
If you’re hearing scratching in the attic, noticing activity at dusk, or seeing signs like droppings or odors, there’s a good chance bats are getting into your home.
We provide safe, professional bat removal for homeowners within 60 miles of Des Moines. More importantly, we don’t just remove the bats—we find how they’re getting in and seal those areas so the problem doesn’t come back.
Small Gaps in the Roofline and Vents Give Bats Easy Access
Bats don’t need much space to get into a home. Small gaps along the roofline, soffits, vents, or trim are enough for them to enter and settle into attic spaces.
Once inside, homeowners often start to notice:
Bat problems don’t go away on their own. If the entry points aren’t properly sealed, they will continue to return.
A Step-by-Step Process That Solves the Problem the Right Way
1. Full Exterior Inspection
We start by identifying exactly how bats are getting into your home.
This includes checking:
You’ll receive a clear plan and quote to fix the issue the right way.
2. Install One-Way Exclusion Devices
We install devices that allow bats to leave safely—but not return.
This is the proper and legal method for removing bats during active seasons.
3. Seal All Entry Points
Once the bats are out, we seal the home to prevent them from getting back in.
This includes rooflines, soffits, vents, fascia, and other vulnerable areas.
4. Cleanup and Sanitation (If Needed)
If there is buildup in the attic, we can remove it and clean the area.
In most homes, accumulation is minimal—but we’ll let you know what’s needed.
5. Final Check + 1-Year Warranty
We make sure everything is sealed and secure.
All sealing work includes a 1-year warranty, giving you long-term protection.
Small Missed Openings and Timing Issues Are the Most Common Reasons
Bat problems are easy to miss and difficult to solve without the right approach.
That’s why a complete inspection and proper exclusion process is so important.
When done correctly, the problem is solved—and stays that way.
We solve the problem once, not year after year.

We have an inspection fee for a couple reasons. One is because we use it to gauge the seriousness of the person that is calling looking to have the bats removed. $195.00 of the fee is taken off the top of the quote should you use our service. The second reason is that we are very busy doing bat removal & bird control. Adding appointments does take a little away from being able to get to these services for our existing clients and it covers our time as the average bat inspection takes 30 min to 1 hour to do effectively.
This is a very hard question for us to answer, my best response is it is like giving a haircut over the phone...just doesn't work. Each building is different whether commercial, residential, or industrial. Gaps 1/2" or larger must be inspected and sealed to prevent re-entry of bats and entries that are existing need one way bat valves installed. During the inspection all these will be taken into account as well as access to those areas like ladder or aerial lift needed and the steepness of the roof all play a factor in the total cost. Our minimum base cost is $850.00 plus tax. The range goes from $850 and up depending on the factors above. Typical ranges for residential homes goes from $850.00 plus tax up to $4,000.00-$5,000.00 plus tax depending on size and amount of work required. It is best to have the inspection done to determine the scope of your bat problem so that an accurate estimate can be given.
We have 1 year warranties on every bat removal job we do except limited warranty on roofs with clay tile or wood shake shingles. Additional year warranties are available and cost will be determined at the time of the inspection. They vary from $99.00 up to $399.00 per extra year.
1 year warranty is on the repair work done to seal up home from bat re-entry into the structure. The warranty starts the day we do the seal up of the house and adding the bat removal exit tubes (valves). These allow any remaining bats inside the attic or walls to exit the structure but not re-enter. Warranty includes re-inspection of the structure and any more seal up that may be needed that was missed during the initial seal up. If the house is damaged after our work by some other act weather or people related...the warranty does not apply to those areas the damage has effected. If customer gets new work done to the house and replaces materials on the home like a new roof, soffit, fascia, trim, vents, etc. the warranty is void for bat re-entry after seal up work is completed initially. Additional 1 year warranty is available at a cost of $299.00 per year. This must be requested and paid for to be activated.
There can be many areas of possible access for bats around a house
Warm Attics and Small Gaps Make
Bats are drawn to homes because of the warmth and protection they provide. Small gaps along the roofline, soffits, vents, or trim give them easy access into attic and wall spaces.
Once inside, they settle into areas where temperatures stay stable, especially during cooler months.
If a bat shows up inside your living space, it’s often a sign there are more somewhere in the structure.
Why am I hearing scratching or fluttering in my attic at night?
This is one of the most common signs of bats. They become active around dusk and can be heard moving, scratching, or fluttering in attic or wall spaces.
How are bats getting into my home?
Bats only need a very small opening to get inside. Gaps along the roofline, soffits, vents, or trim are often enough for them to enter and access attic spaces.
Will bats leave on their own?
No. Once bats settle into a home, they tend to stay and return each year. The problem won’t go away unless the entry points are properly addressed.
What happens if a bat gets into the house?
If a bat makes its way into the living space, it’s usually a sign they are already inside the structure. It’s important to identify how they’re getting in and fix the issue.
How do you remove bats from a home?
We start with a full inspection to find where bats are getting in. Then we install one-way devices that allow them to leave safely but not return. After they’re out, we seal the home to prevent future entry.
How long does it take to get rid of the bats?
Most bats will leave within a few days to a couple of weeks after exclusion devices are installed, depending on the situation.
Are bats dangerous to have in the attic?
Bats should not be handled and can create concerns if left in a home. It’s best to have them addressed properly to avoid ongoing issues.
Do you seal the home so bats don’t come back?
Yes. This is a critical part of the process. Once the bats are out, we seal all entry points so they can’t return.
Can bats come back after removal?
They can if the home isn’t properly sealed. When done correctly, the exclusion and sealing process prevents them from getting back in.
How do I get started?
If you’re hearing noises or suspect bats, the first step is an inspection. We’ll identify what’s going on and walk you through exactly how to fix it.
